MMA Gym with a large matted area, weights and aerobic equipment at the back.
A full row of banana and heavy bags down one side of the gym.
The Gym comprises of one large room dedicated to all practices.
There’s a small reception area that sells bottles of cold drinks, hand wraps and other such items.
There’s also a toilet with a shower that I was able to use straight after practice, and lockers with supplied keys for your personal items.
Staff
There’s 3 coaches, 1 gentleman who is the karate teacher, 1 who is the BJJ coach, and the owner Phu who is a purple belt in BJJ & also the kickboxing coach.
They are all extremely laid back and welcoming, with a swift response time to messages on Facebook.
Phu’s english is at very good level and he is very knowledgable.
He gave a lot of his time to us giving 1 on 1 instructionals for an extended period which was incredibly kind and vastly useful.
Experience
The club comprises of a tight knit group of enthusiastic Mixed-Martial Artists.
They’re currently as of time of writing training for a competition so a lot of the session was sparring which was ideal.
As I said before, Phu’s 1 on 1 aspect was not taken for granted.
And overall the session was exactly what we needed to kick off our BJJ adventures in Vietnam and beyond.
Price
100,000 Dong per session (£3.43 on 14/11/22). This price is fantastic for the experience we had.
Conclusion
I would highly recommend if you’re looking at travelling around in Vietnam and you want somewhere great to roll and learn a few new moves, get in touch with the guys at Hue Fighter.
It was a highly enjoyable experience so thank you to Phu for that.
